I've always been a middling Tolkien fan - it's one of those obvious things when you're a sf/fantasy fan. You see Star Wars, you read P.K. Dick, you read Tolkien. At first Tolkien-based fanfiction gave me a knee-jerk "how dare they??" reaction, rare as it was. Then came the movies, and some of the writers were actually rather good. Then I discovered Silmarillion fanfiction.
And then I developed the elves in my head. I rather long for the days where my muses were quiet and unobtrusive...
Lord of the Rings and Silmarillion
Environment: LOTR/Silmarillion
On a dark night in Dol Amroth, Denethor's heirs run into a mysterious figure from the far-away past. Knowledge of the Silmarillion will enhance the reading experience, but is not necessary. Rated PG, tops.
Environment: LOTR
On the second anniversary of Arwen and Aragorn's wedding, Galadriel gives Arwen the last gift before she sails West. Written for the Henneth Annun ML birthday challenge.
Environment: Silmarillion
Fëanor sinking deeper into his madness. Part of my Finwion series, which has merited a LiveJournal of its very own. It's run by Sparky himself, so that's why all the comments are so snooty. Bloody elf...
Environment: Silmarillion/LOTR (Akallabeth to be exact)
A short vignette: someone dared me to write Sauron/Pharazon/Zimraphel. This is what I came up with. Rated PG-13 to R.
Environment: Silmarillion
Modern-day elves. Meditations upon closeness and distance. And Tokyo, for some reason. Fingon and Maedhros, far into the Fourth Age.
